This class blog space will be a place where each week, as listed on the schedule, you respond to a prompt I post. The prompt will be connected to the course readings as well as your writing assignments. In addition, you will converse with your classmates to assist you in developing ideas for your writing by responding to one another's posts.
Please list five interview questions you can ask the person you are profiling. Then list two possible secondary sources you can look into for information for your profile.
When replying to a peer please critique their questions, add one additional question, and one additional secondary source.
Who is one person you could write your profile essay on and why are you interested in writing about them? Be sure to respond to at least one classmate as well.
At this point you have read two feature pieces, "The Making of a Terrorist" and "The Girl in the Window". Please explain how these two features are different and how they are similar. Remember we are interested in this from a writing perspective. Think about research, character development, style, etc. Do not forget to respond to a classmate.
So far we have read one feature piece "The Making of Dylan Roof". Please explain what you have learned about feature writing from reading it that you did not know in the first half of our semester. Use specific examples from the essay. Be sure to respond to at least one classmate. This counts as attendance for Wed 11/27 and must be completed by the end of the day.
For this post I would like you to find an photo online that appeals to you. It can be of anything. Share the link to the photo with us and write a short paragraph about why the image strikes you? What about the composition and/or associated story is important to you? What do you notice about the photographers choices?
Our goal here is to continue thinking about the power of images from both the photographer and viewers perspectives. Do not forget to respond to a classmate.
Write down who you are writing your profile on and list five interview questions. Then respond to one peer critiquing their questions.
In our final blog post please select one character from "Adam and Megan's Story
: and describe how Curtin develops the character. Then explain how this essay may help you develop your second feature piece.
Do not forget to comment on a peer post.
